Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last updated: 26 July 2026
This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how orders placed through beacrab.com are processed, dispatched and delivered, including how digital gift cards are supplied.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy Policy.
1. About us
This website is operated by:
Be A Crab LTD
Trading as Be A Crab – The Shell Club
Company number: 16980992
Registered and trading address:
Be A Crab LTD
Unit 2 Curlew House

Email: sales@beacrab.com
In this policy, “Be A Crab”, “The Shell Club”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Be A Crab LTD.
2. Order processing
Orders for physical products are processed after payment has been successfully authorised and the order has passed any required security or fraud checks.
Orders placed before 2:00pm UK time on a working day are normally eligible for same-day processing.
Orders placed:
- After 2:00pm
- On a Saturday or Sunday
- On a UK bank holiday
- During a closure period displayed on our website
will normally be processed on the next working day.
A working day means Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays.
Processing times are separate from delivery times. Delivery estimates begin after an order has been dispatched unless expressly stated otherwise.
Digital gift cards are processed electronically and are not subject to our physical-product dispatch schedule.
3. Processing delays
Processing may take longer where:
- Payment requires additional verification
- Fraud or security checks are required
- Delivery information is incomplete or appears incorrect
- An item is temporarily unavailable
- An order contains a personalised or pre-order product
- An order is unusually large
- We need additional information from you
- There is unusually high order volume
- Events outside our reasonable control affect our operations
Digital gift-card delivery may also be delayed where:
- The recipient’s email address is incorrect or incomplete
- The email is blocked or filtered by the recipient’s email provider
- Payment requires verification
- Fraud or security checks are required
- Shopify or an email-delivery service is temporarily unavailable
- We need additional information from the purchaser
We will contact you where additional information is needed or where there is likely to be a significant delay.
4. Amending or cancelling an order
Please contact us as soon as possible at sales@beacrab.com if you need to amend or cancel an order.
Once a physical order has entered warehouse processing or has been prepared for dispatch, we may be unable to change or cancel it.
We will make reasonable efforts to process your request, but we cannot guarantee that an order can be stopped once fulfilment has begun.
Where an order cannot be cancelled before dispatch, eligible products may be returned after delivery in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy.
A digital gift card may be issued soon after payment and fulfilment. Once a gift card has been issued, sent or redeemed, it may not be possible to change the recipient, value or delivery details.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory cancellation rights you may have.
5. Digital gift-card delivery
Be A Crab gift cards purchased through our online store are digital products.
No physical gift card will be posted unless the relevant product page expressly states otherwise.
When a gift-card order is fulfilled, the purchaser or intended recipient will normally receive an email containing:
- The digital gift card
- A unique gift-card code
- The gift-card value
- Instructions for using the gift card
- A link for viewing the gift card and checking its balance, where available
Shopify creates a digital gift card when a gift-card product order is fulfilled and sends the customer or recipient an email containing the unique redemption code.
Gift-card delivery times
Digital gift cards are normally delivered electronically shortly after the order has been successfully processed and fulfilled.
Delivery is not always immediate. Emails may be delayed by:
- Payment or security checks
- Email-provider filtering
- Spam or junk-mail controls
- Incorrect recipient information
- Technical issues
- Temporary service interruptions
The purchaser and recipient should check their spam, junk and promotions folders before contacting us about a missing gift card.
Recipient information
The purchaser is responsible for checking that the recipient’s:
- Name
- Email address
- Delivery date, where scheduling is available
- Personal message
are correct before submitting the order.
If the purchaser supplies an incorrect email address, contact us promptly at sales@beacrab.com.
We will try to help, but we cannot guarantee that a gift card can be redirected, cancelled or replaced after it has been delivered or redeemed.
Resending a digital gift card
If the gift-card email has been accidentally deleted or cannot be located, we may be able to resend it after completing appropriate security checks.
We may request:
- The purchaser’s name
- The purchaser’s email address
- The order number
- The gift-card value
- The intended recipient’s details
- Other information reasonably needed to confirm the purchase
Resending a gift-card email does not create a new gift card or increase the available balance.
No shipping charge
Digital gift cards do not require physical postage and should not attract a shipping charge.
Where an order contains only a digital gift card, no physical parcel will be dispatched.
Where an order contains both a gift card and physical products:
- The gift card will be delivered electronically
- The physical products will be dispatched separately
- Normal delivery charges and delivery terms will apply to the physical products
Shopify recommends configuring digital gift cards as digital products so customers are not charged shipping fees for them.
6. Delivery locations
We deliver physical products within the United Kingdom and to selected international destinations.
The delivery options available for your address will be shown at checkout.
If your country or location is not available at checkout, this normally means that we are unable to deliver physical products there at that time.
Please contact sales@beacrab.com before placing an order if you have a question about delivery availability.
We may be unable to deliver physical products to certain:
- PO boxes
- Parcel-forwarding services
- Military addresses
- Remote areas
- Restricted locations
- Addresses that a selected courier cannot safely or lawfully serve
Any applicable restriction will normally be identified at checkout or after we review the order.
Because gift cards are delivered electronically, physical delivery-area restrictions do not normally apply to them. However, gift-card purchase or redemption availability may be limited by our store settings, supported currencies, sanctions, payment restrictions or applicable law.
7. UK delivery
Orders placed before 2:00pm UK time on a working day may be eligible for next-working-day delivery where that service is available and selected.
Orders placed after 2:00pm will normally begin processing on the next working day.
Next-working-day delivery is an estimated service and is not guaranteed unless we expressly confirm it as a guaranteed delivery service.
Delivery may take longer for:
- Remote locations
- Northern Ireland
- The Scottish Highlands and Islands
- The Channel Islands
- The Isle of Man
- Locations subject to courier restrictions
The available service and estimated delivery time for your address will be displayed at checkout.
8. UK delivery charges
We offer free UK delivery on qualifying orders over £50.
For orders of £50 or less, the available delivery charge will be shown at checkout before payment is completed.
The qualifying physical-product order value is normally calculated:
- After applicable discounts and promotional codes
- After cancelled or refunded products have been removed
- Before payment is made using a gift card or another payment method
Using a gift card to pay for an order does not itself reduce the underlying value of the eligible products in that order.
Digital gift cards do not count as physical products for delivery purposes. An order containing only gift cards will not require physical delivery.
Delivery charges may vary depending on the delivery service, parcel size, weight or destination.
9. International delivery
We deliver physical products to selected international destinations.
International delivery services displayed at checkout may include estimated services of:
- 1–2 working days
- 2–3 working days
These timeframes are estimates beginning from dispatch and may vary by destination, courier and customs-clearance requirements.
Delivery to remote or restricted areas may take longer.
An international delivery option appearing at checkout does not guarantee that customs authorities or the courier will complete delivery within the estimated period.
Digital gift cards are delivered electronically and are not sent through international courier or postal networks.
10. International delivery charges
Where available, our international delivery options may include:
- £14.99 — estimated 1–2 working days
- £5.99 — estimated 2–3 working days
The exact delivery options and charges available for your destination will be displayed at checkout.
The checkout price is the applicable delivery charge for your order. Where the information displayed at checkout differs from a general estimate on this page, the checkout information will apply.
Delivery rates may vary depending on:
- Destination
- Parcel weight
- Parcel dimensions
- Courier availability
- The products ordered
- Promotional offers
No international shipping charge applies to an order containing only a digital gift card.
11. Delivery estimates
All physical delivery periods are estimates unless we expressly state that a particular service is guaranteed.
An estimated delivery date does not form a guarantee that delivery will occur on that exact date.
Delivery estimates may be affected by:
- Courier delays
- Customs clearance
- Severe weather
- Transport disruption
- Industrial action
- Seasonal demand
- Public holidays
- Security checks
- Incorrect delivery information
- Events outside our reasonable control
Where no specific delivery period has been agreed, we will deliver physical goods without undue delay and within the timeframe required by applicable consumer law.
UK distance-selling guidance states that goods must normally be delivered within 30 days unless another period has been agreed with the customer.
Digital gift-card delivery estimates are separate from physical delivery estimates.
12. Dispatch confirmation and tracking
When your physical order has been dispatched, we will normally send you a dispatch-confirmation email.
Where tracking is available, the email will include:
- The courier
- A tracking number
- A link or instructions for tracking the parcel
Tracking information may take several hours to become active after dispatch.
Tracking updates are provided by the courier and may occasionally be delayed or incomplete.
Digital gift cards do not have courier tracking. Their delivery is confirmed through the relevant gift-card or order email.
13. Delivery addresses
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Before submitting an order for physical products, please check:
- Recipient name
- House or building number
- Street name
- Flat, unit or floor details
- Town or city
- Postcode
- Country
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Any necessary access or delivery instructions
We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by you.
Please contact us immediately if you notice an address error. We cannot guarantee that the address can be amended after warehouse processing has begun.
For digital gift cards, you must also carefully check the purchaser’s and recipient’s email addresses.
14. Address changes after dispatch
We may be unable to change the delivery address after a physical order has been dispatched.
Any address change requested directly through the courier is subject to:
- Courier approval
- Security restrictions
- Additional charges
- Possible delivery delays
We are not responsible for unauthorised address changes made through a courier account or delivery-management service controlled by the recipient.
Email-address changes for digital gift cards are dealt with under section 5 of this policy.
15. Receiving delivery
A physical parcel may be delivered to:
- You
- Another person at the delivery address
- A person nominated by you
- A neighbour, where permitted
- A parcel shop or collection point
- A safe place authorised by you
You should ensure that someone is available to receive the parcel where required.
A courier may require:
- A signature
- A photograph
- A delivery PIN
- Proof of identity
- Proof of age
- Another form of delivery confirmation
You are responsible for keeping any delivery PIN or collection code secure.
Digital gift cards are received electronically and do not require physical acceptance or a signature.
16. Age requirements
Orders should be placed by a person aged 18 or over.
Where a courier or the nature of a delivery requires age verification, the recipient may be asked to provide valid identification.
We cannot guarantee physical delivery where the recipient does not satisfy a lawful courier or age-verification requirement.
Gift-card purchases should also be made by an adult or with the involvement and permission of a parent or guardian.
17. Safe-place and neighbour deliveries
Where you authorise delivery to a safe place, neighbour, reception desk, concierge or another nominated location, the parcel may be treated as delivered when it is left in that authorised location.
Please choose a location that is:
- Secure
- Weather-protected
- Accessible to the courier
- Not visible or easily accessible to the public
We are not responsible for loss occurring after valid delivery to a location expressly selected or authorised by you, except where the loss results from our breach of duty or the courier’s failure to follow the authorised instructions.
18. Delivery responsibility and risk
Physical products remain at our risk until they are physically delivered to:
- You
- A person identified by you to receive them
- A safe place or collection location expressly authorised by you
Risk does not normally pass to you merely because the courier has attempted delivery.
Where you independently instruct a carrier that was not offered or nominated by us to collect the goods, risk may pass when the goods are delivered to that carrier, as permitted by law.
Ownership of physical products passes to you once we have received payment in full.
Gift-card codes should be treated like cash. The purchaser and recipient are responsible for keeping the code secure after it has been received.
19. Missed deliveries
If no one is available to receive a physical parcel, the courier may:
- Attempt delivery again
- Leave a calling card or electronic notice
- Deliver to an authorised neighbour
- Leave the parcel in an authorised safe place
- Take the parcel to a collection point
- Hold the parcel at a local depot
- Return the parcel to us
You are responsible for following the courier’s reasonable instructions regarding collection or redelivery.
Please monitor the tracking information after dispatch.
This section does not apply to digital gift-card emails.
20. Failed deliveries and returned parcels
A physical parcel may be returned to us where:
- The delivery address is incorrect or incomplete
- Delivery is refused
- The recipient is unavailable
- The parcel is not collected
- Redelivery is not arranged
- The courier cannot safely access the address
- Required customs or identity information is not provided
When a parcel is returned to us, we may contact you to arrange:
- Redelivery
- Collection
- Cancellation and refund, where appropriate
Where the failed delivery resulted from incorrect information or a failure within your reasonable control, we may require payment of a reasonable redelivery charge.
Alternatively, we may cancel the order and issue an appropriate refund.
Any deduction from a refund will only be made where lawful and will reflect reasonable costs actually incurred.
Your statutory rights are unaffected.
21. Unclaimed orders
If a physical order is returned to us and we cannot obtain instructions from you, we may retain it for a reasonable period.
After that period, we may cancel the order and process any refund due, subject to lawful deductions for reasonable costs caused by the failed delivery.
Please ensure that your email address and telephone number are accurate so we can contact you.
22. Customs, duties and import taxes
For international orders containing physical products, customs duties and import taxes charged as part of the normal import process are covered by Be A Crab, unless checkout or the product page clearly states otherwise before purchase.
The price displayed at checkout is intended to include the normal duties and taxes payable for delivery to the selected destination.
However, you remain responsible for:
- Providing information reasonably required for customs clearance
- Complying with local import rules
- Responding to lawful requests from the courier or customs authority
- Ensuring that the ordered products may legally be imported into the destination country
If a courier unexpectedly requests payment of a customs duty or import tax that should have been covered by us, do not ignore the request. Contact sales@beacrab.com before making payment where reasonably possible.
Charges caused by unusual circumstances outside the normal import process, such as storage fees resulting from a failure to respond to customs requests, may remain your responsibility where legally permitted.
Digital gift cards are not physically imported and do not pass through customs. Other tax, currency or legal rules may still apply depending on the purchaser’s or recipient’s location.
23. Customs information requests
For international deliveries of physical products, the courier or customs authority may request:
- Identification
- Tax or customs numbers
- Confirmation of the order value
- Proof of purchase
- Delivery instructions
- Import declarations
- Other information required under local law
Failure to provide requested information may result in:
- Delivery delays
- Storage charges
- The parcel being returned
- The parcel being abandoned or destroyed by customs, where legally permitted
Please contact us promptly if you are unsure whether a customs request is genuine.
24. International restrictions
Certain physical products may be restricted from delivery to particular countries because of:
- Customs rules
- Product regulations
- Carrier restrictions
- Material restrictions
- Import licences
- Sanctions
- Safety requirements
We may cancel an affected order if we discover that a product cannot lawfully or practically be delivered to the destination.
Any amount paid for a product we cannot supply will be refunded.
We may also restrict the sale, issuance or redemption of gift cards where required by sanctions, payment-provider rules, currency restrictions, fraud controls or applicable law.
25. Damaged deliveries
Please inspect the parcel and products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If a product arrives damaged, contact us promptly at:
Please provide:
- Your full name
- Your order number
- A description of the damage
- Photographs of the damaged product
- Photographs of the external packaging
- Photographs of any internal packaging
- The courier label, where relevant
Please retain the product and packaging until we confirm whether they are needed for investigation or return.
Prompt notification helps us make a claim against the courier, but failure to report the issue within 24 hours does not automatically remove your statutory rights.
For a gift card that does not work, contains the wrong value or has been incorrectly issued, please contact us and provide your order number and details of the problem.
26. Incorrect or incomplete deliveries
If your physical delivery contains:
- The wrong product
- The wrong size or colour
- Missing products
- Missing parts
- An incorrect quantity
contact sales@beacrab.com as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide your order number and photographs where relevant.
We will investigate and arrange an appropriate solution, which may include:
- Sending the missing or correct product
- Providing a prepaid return method
- Issuing a refund
Your statutory rights are unaffected.
27. Lost parcels
A parcel may be considered delayed before it is considered lost.
Courier tracking may occasionally show no movement for a period while the parcel remains in transit.
If your parcel has not arrived by the estimated delivery date, please:
- Check the tracking information
- Check your delivery address
- Check with household members
- Check any safe place
- Check with neighbours
- Check with reception or a concierge
- Check for courier notifications
If the parcel still cannot be located, contact sales@beacrab.com.
We may need to open an investigation with the courier before confirming that the parcel is lost.
A missing digital gift-card email is not treated as a lost parcel. Please follow the steps in section 5.
28. Orders shown as delivered but not received
If tracking shows that your physical parcel has been delivered but you cannot find it, please:
- Check the delivery photograph
- Check the exact delivery location shown
- Check safe places
- Ask household members
- Ask neighbours
- Check reception, security or concierge areas
- Contact the courier where appropriate
Then contact us promptly at sales@beacrab.com.
We may ask you to provide information or complete a declaration reasonably required for the courier investigation.
We will not reject a valid claim solely because the tracking status says “delivered”. We will consider the available evidence and the circumstances of the delivery.
29. Stolen parcels
If a parcel appears to have been stolen after valid delivery to a location authorised by you, please contact us and, where appropriate, the police.
Whether we can provide a replacement or refund will depend on:
- Whether valid delivery occurred
- Whether the courier followed the delivery instructions
- Whether the delivery location was authorised
- The evidence available
- Your statutory rights
Nothing in this section excludes liability where the parcel was not properly delivered.
Gift-card codes should also be kept secure. Please contact us promptly if you believe a code has been stolen, disclosed or used without permission.
30. Delivery delays and events outside our control
We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
- Courier disruption
- Customs delays
- Severe weather
- Flooding
- Fire
- Natural disaster
- War or civil unrest
- Government action
- Border disruption
- Industrial action
- Transport interruption
- Cyber incidents
- Utility outages
- Peak seasonal demand
- Public-health restrictions
- Supplier interruption
- Shopify, payment-provider or email-service interruption
We will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect of the delay and keep you informed where practical.
Where a delay is substantial or gives you a statutory right to cancel, you may contact us to exercise that right.
31. Time-sensitive deliveries
Please do not rely on an estimated delivery date where a physical order is needed for a specific event, trip, birthday or occasion unless we expressly confirm a guaranteed delivery service.
We are not responsible for losses resulting from an order arriving after a particular event where delivery was made within the agreed or legally permitted timeframe.
Where a gift card is intended for a particular occasion, we recommend purchasing it with sufficient time to resolve any email-delivery or recipient-detail issues.
This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
32. Sundays and UK bank holidays
Physical orders are not normally processed or dispatched by us on Sundays or UK bank holidays.
Some couriers may offer Sunday or bank-holiday delivery in selected areas. Availability depends on the courier and service selected.
Where no such service is displayed at checkout, delivery estimates should be calculated using working days.
Digital gift-card emails may be issued automatically outside normal working hours, but customer-support requests will be handled during our normal working hours.
33. Multiple parcels
A physical order may be dispatched in more than one parcel.
Where this happens:
- Parcels may arrive at different times
- Each parcel may have separate tracking
- You will not be charged additional delivery fees unless agreed in advance
Please check the dispatch confirmation before reporting an item as missing.
A digital gift card included in the same order will be delivered electronically and will not be included inside a physical parcel.
34. Pre-orders and products with longer lead times
Some products may have a stated:
- Pre-order date
- Dispatch estimate
- Longer processing time
- Separate delivery timeframe
The relevant product-page information will apply to those products.
If an order contains both an immediately available product and a pre-order product, we may:
- Dispatch the products separately
- Hold the order until all products are available
The intended approach may be shown at checkout or in the product description.
A digital gift card in the same order may be issued separately from any pre-order or physical product.
35. Split shipments
We may split an order into multiple shipments where this helps us deliver available products sooner.
Where we split an order, we will normally cover any additional delivery charge unless the split was requested by you and an additional charge was agreed.
Digital gift-card delivery is not treated as a physical shipment.
36. Gift cards used to pay for delivery
A Be A Crab gift card may be used towards an eligible order through our online checkout.
Where permitted by the checkout, the gift-card balance may be applied towards:
- Eligible products
- Delivery charges
- Applicable taxes or other eligible order charges
If the available gift-card balance is less than the total order value, the remaining amount must be paid using another supported payment method.
Shopify permits customers to enter a gift-card code at checkout and requires another payment method where the gift-card balance does not cover the full order total.
The use of a gift card as payment does not alter the delivery service selected or the delivery terms applying to the physical products.
37. Delivery-policy changes
We may update this Shipping & Delivery Policy from time to time to reflect:
- Changes to couriers
- Changes to delivery areas
- Changes to charges
- Changes to our gift-card service
- Operational changes
- Legal or regulatory requirements
- Changes to our services
The delivery terms shown at checkout and in force when you place your order will normally apply to that order.
The latest version of this policy will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
38. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy excludes or restricts your statutory rights.
You may have legal rights where physical products:
- Are not delivered within the agreed or legally required period
- Are lost before delivery
- Arrive damaged
- Are incomplete
- Are incorrect
- Are faulty
- Are not as described
You may also have rights where a digital gift card:
- Is not supplied
- Does not work
- Has the wrong value
- Is not supplied as described
- Is sent incorrectly because of our error
These rights apply separately from any voluntary service offered in this policy.
